What Arc is
Arc is a parenting journal published by Signal Twelve LLC. You use Arc to keep private records about your family — moments with your kids, routines, and (when you choose) documented accounts of events that matter. Your records belong to you.
What we collect
- Account information: email address, password hash, and a per-user profile row.
- Entries you create: text, voice transcripts, photos, video, audio, locations (only when you tap to attach one), and any tags or notes you add.
- Child profiles: names, birth dates, and any photo you choose to add. Provided by you, the parent.
- Subscription status if you become a paying customer, via Stripe.
What we do NOT collect
- Your contacts, calendar, or any data outside Arc.
- Location continuously in the background.
- Any information from your children directly — Arc is designed for parents to record their own observations.
- Advertising identifiers. Arc has no ads.
Where your data lives
Arc uses Supabase (Postgres + storage + auth) for all account and entry data, hosted in the United States. Row-level security ensures only your own user account can read or write your rows. Database backups are taken daily.
AI features
Some Arc features (pattern review, weekly arcs, tag suggestions, the daily reflection) call Anthropic's Claude API to generate text. When you use these features, the relevant entry text is sent to Anthropic for processing.
- Per Anthropic's commercial terms, your data is not used to train their models.
- Anthropic retains API request data for a limited period for operational and abuse-prevention purposes (currently 30 days).
- AI features are opt-in per action — Arc never sends data to AI providers without you triggering it.
Payments
Arc Premium is billed through Stripe. Your payment card details are handled by Stripe directly; we never store card numbers on Arc's servers. Stripe stores a customer ID and subscription status, which we use to gate premium features.
Your rights
- Export — pull all your data out at any time as CSV (free) or as the structured Pattern Evidence / Case File exports (Premium).
- Delete — there is an in-app account-deletion button that wipes your account row, profile, all entries, all media, and your evidence-pattern library. This is irreversible.
- Correct or update — every entry is editable from the app.
If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you also have the formal rights granted by GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA respectively. To exercise any of these, email sonia@arcstory.io.
Children's data
Arc is not directed at children. The app is for parents to keep their own records about their family. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. The child profiles you create in Arc are your records about your children, not accounts used by them.
